I will consider adding an option like this.

However only a few FTP servers brands are capable of creating symlinks. Many do not support this feature because it is not part of the core FTP standard. I know that ProFTPD uses SITE SYMLINK src dst but I am unsure if other FTP server brands use other variants of this.

For SFTP servers I believe most of them do unless there is an issue with the user/file permissions.
