Default very simple question, file copying on a server

hello.

first, please dont kick my ass because of my very simple and nooby question.

well, is it possible to copy a file from folder /a to folder /b on my webspace? i tried everything but all i found was just the option to move a file from /a to /b . copy and paste i cant find. is there a way copy files with ffxp on webspace? (i also tried to fxp the file but thats not supported by my webspace).

thanks in advance for every help.

I don't believe there is a single server that supports copy via ftp (in fact I don't believe the protocol even supports it). You will either need to download, upload, delete, or simply do it via shell.

Nope, unless you make a custom script for it with a server that supports custom scripts.

do you want to copy that file or move it?
if move, then you can do rename command with full 'original path'/filename to 'new path'/filename
that should work
