Default Upgrading ???

Why when i download the latest public beta does it ask me to uninstall my flash, repair it or add new features. There isnt an upgrade option. I remember doing this last update and losing my registration details and sites.dat. Why doesnt it just upgrade the needed files like it did before inicom took over? The previous updates to the program were fully automatic. Could you please advise me of how to do a simple upgrade?

Or should i just backup my sites.dat and reinstall it again, then readd my registration key?

you know it would help if you'd actually say what versions you were upgrading from/to

When upgrading from FlashFXP v3.4 final this shouldn't happen.

Since there is no upgrade option, Yes you need to backup everything, the best way to do this is directly from FlashFXP...From the main menu, Tools > Backup/Restore Configuration.

The backup file will contain your sites and all settings.

Once you install the new version of FlashFXP use the Restore feature to restore your backed up settings.

since we moved to a new installer, there was no way to do an upgrade. It won't overwrite your sites.dat file, but as the download page suggests, we do recommend backing up and then importing your settings. I will tweak the wording on that page to make it more clear on what is best. All future upgrades should be painless.
