You may also download it directly from the main download page
http://www.inicom.net/pages/en.ffxp-download.php
It may not be as obvious unless you read the button text but it's the 3 download button.

Thank you to both of you for your help.
I didn't see it was the third button, i thought it was another mirror for the normal version.

Out of curiosity which program did you use to download the file?
The file has a u3p extension, I'm not entirely sure why it was renamed to zip on you.
I tested with FireFox, Internet Explorer 7.0 and GetRight and each of them properly downloaded it with a u3p extension.

Hello,
i used IE7 with the add-on IE7 Pro running on Windows Vista Professional. I just tested again and add the same result(a zip file)
Then i tested on a "command line linux box" and i successfuly downloaded the file with u3p extension.
i have another computer running IE7 with IE7 Pro add-on on a Windows XP Professional, i'll make the test asap and let you know the answer
Sincerely
Matthieu

Thanks for getting back to me. I did a few more tests and It seems IE 7.0 is in fact downloading it as .zip I'm not entirely sure why that's occurring. It might be a security issue with IE. Originally when this problem was reported I made changes to the web server and tested those changes with IE 7.0 and it that solved it. Not sure what has changed to suddenly change it.

It would appear that somehow my server side fix was undone, I replied the fix and everything seems to be working again with IE 7.0

Thanks, that's a good news. I'm sure it will be very useful for the people who will download this U3 version.
Sincerely
Matt

It would be usefull to find out how to turn a regular FFXP installation download file into a portable one (if there is such a way)
I dont use a portable version but the portable vs the normal build is now old even if the normal build is stable vs RC.
Or maybe just ignore me on this! hehe.

once you have it installed, you can download the older .u3 file, rename it to .zip, and replace the flashfxp.exe within the zip with the one from the newer release. Just don't mess with any of the other files and you'll be fine! .
Or, you can just wait for an official release....
