Default Have to click several times in menus.

Hi.

Since I can't find any other threads regarding this, I am wondering is I am the only one with this issue.

When I use the mouse to select a menu, and then click one of the options like "Sites/Site Manager", I very often have to click 2-3 times before something actually happens.

The same often happens when I choose "Session/On Transfer Complete" and try to select "Quit FlashFXP". I often have to click 2-3 times on that one as well.

The option turns blue like it is supposed to, but often nothing happens when I click the mouse button.

I of course thought that it might be my mouse behaving badly, but I just don't see the issue in any other application.

It is not a big deal, but it is quite annoying since it happens quite often.

The weird thing is that I can't really reproduce it 100%, or find any special condition that triggers it. I just opened a new instance of FlashFXP, and opened the Site Manager 10 times without a single issue. The previous FlashFXP I had open, I did the same thing, and every single time, I had to click the mouse at least 2 times to open the Site Manager.

I am aware that not being able to reproduce it 100%, might make the troubleshooting harder. But it would sue be nice to have it fixed :-)

Thank you.

Does this occur more often while connected to a remote server vs not connected at all?

And if while connected does this occur more often while idle or while transferring a file?

And if transferring a file what type of file transfer are you performing, upload, download, or site to site?

Hi.

It defenately happens most often when connected and transfering files.

So far I have not been able to get this behavior, on a newly started, not connected FlashFXP instance.

I have especially noted the behavior, when wanting to choose "Quit FlashFXP" when transfer is done, since I use that with pretty much everything I transfer. And I always use that after being connected and when I have started to download or FXP files from the left pane to the right pane. So the right pane can be either the local browser or an FXP window.

Is there anything I can do to maybe narrow it down?

rco133

It just happened again. After having started a download from the left pane to the right pane.

I had to click "Quit FlashFXP" 4 times before it accepted it.

Lets focus on when it occurs during a download and see if we can find a pattern.

1. What is the server connection type, FTP, FTPS, or SFTP ?

2. What is your average transfer speed during a download?

3. Do you have speed limiting enabled?

And finally did you experience this issue in any previous builds, if so do you remember a specific recent build that wasn't effected by this issue?

1. It is FTP (Auth TLS) connections. Secure file listing is enabled, but not Secure file transfers.

2. The average speed is 8-10 Mbit (800 - 1000 kB/s)

3. I have download speed limit enabled at 1070 kB/s.

I have noticed it for a while, but I can't really point at a special build where it started, Sorry.

I am not really sure what can cause it. I do the same thing quite often, and it is like 50/50 wether it hapens or not.

If I am the only one experiencing this, don't loose any sleep over it :-)

I have to wonder if the speed limiting option is a factor, would it be possible to test with it off for a short period of time to determine if it occurs less frequently or not at all.

In the past the speed limiter has caused some unusual problems and I wouldn't be surprised if its related.

Sure, I will try to disable it, and get back to you in a few days.

Actually when I went to turn speed limiting off, I did it in a FlashFXP instance where I had an upload running at 210 kB/s, and I had to click the "Preferences" option in the menu three times before the window appeared.

I only have speed limiting enabled on download, not upload.

But I have now disabled it completely.

Hi.

Unfortunately I have to say that it is not related to the speed limiter. Have been running without it enabled since my last post, and it just happened again.

This is also happening to me, it happens in all tabs even the about / help tabs etc.. not just the tabs in transfer mode, where you have to click multiple times or just click around in the area for it to finally reconise the click.

I'm somewhat confused by your post.

What do you mean not just the tabs in transfer mode?

This bug report is related to the menus.

If your bug doesn't occur specifically in the menu please start a new thread and explain the exact behavior in detail so that we can fully understand the issue.

Sorry I should have been more accurate with my first post.

upon launching flashfxp, the menu / clicking works fine.
however upon connecting to a FTP (standard FTP)

once connected, if you then goto the menu's which related to both menu's such as sites, tools help etc.. & In Tranfer menu's (transfer, queue etc..)

then you have to click multiple times for the click to be reconised.

this only happens when connected to an FTP, if not connected to an FTP clicking the menu's works as intended.

Thank you for clarifying the problem for me, I will send you a private message with a download link to a test build within the next hour or so.
