Default Cannot connect with FlashFXP

I have hit a snag over the past 24 hours, unable to connect to a site with FlashFXP. I have a few dozen sites I work with using FlashFXP for many years.

The issue
For the site www.modekungen.se I have used two accounts for several years, a root access for main site updates and a developer access to a clone.

Clone is located at modekungen.se/kopi

Now, a second clone has been added at modekungen.se/kopi2 with separate FTP access, but I cannot access the site with FlashFXP, I get 503 authentication error.

The credentials have been verified in several ways through my colleauges, but I cannot access with my FTP client. I am stumped.

This morning as a test of credentials, I downloaded 'cuteftp' trial, entered credentials, and connected immediately.

WTF?

I do not want to use another FTP client, hopefully someone here can help me determine the issue. I can provide further details and even ftp access if necessary.

Have entered and re-entered credentials into FlashFXP, still no joy:

Can anyone explain this behavior? All credentials are copy/paste same in one client as in another. I am perplexed here. I hate these other ftp clients, really need my ftp to perform here. What could possibly be wrong?

Does the password have an extra space before or after the password?
Sometimes copying and pasting the password will include an extra space that doesn't belong.

Does the password contain any non-Latin1 characters such as à è ë ï Õ Ü ?
With servers switching to UTF-8 some require passwords to be UTF-8 encoded while older legacy servers require standard ANSI/Latin1, this has been a royal headache because there is no obvious correct answer without trying one and then the other, however some FTP servers do not allow second chances.

Hmmm, I see what you mean about character encoding, however this password is a simple, random alphanumeric with 7 lowercase alphabet, three uppercase alphabit and one numeral at the end. And since I am pasting directly into the other clients as a test and succeeding, I have been assuming that if anything strange is happening to the password it is happening in FlashFXP rather than ftpserver . . . "some FTP servers do not allow second chances" - maybe this is what is happening - but if so, wouldn't it affect my attempts with the other ftp clients, or would the server 'mark' which client is attempting to connect?

I am totally abashed at this behavior. Do you see anything in the logs that might offer any other clues?

RESOLVED.

Unfortunately, I was never able to ascertain the exact nature of my problem, I think it was a server-side routine that prevented me from connecting to that directory from here. Many thanks to Bigstar, who tested and was able to connect via FlashFXP. The problem was not inherent in the email client, and I am now able to connect with FlashFXP from here as well.
