View panes messed up

Worked fine until this morning ... Both panes came up with nothing in them! When I connected, the left pane contained the tree for the connected site ... the right pane contained nothing! I recovered from an old configuration, but what went wrong???

hard to say, do you still have your old configuration file? It might help us determine what went wrong.

Another possibility is that your system ran out of resources while FlashFXP was loading and FlashFXP was unable to create all of the controls on the main window.

Yup, I have it ... how do I get it to you? I doubt my system ran out of resources ... especially since I rebooted and tried it again.
