I hate to say this , but ... ¿have you tried with other ftp clients or with the ftp client that windows has (ftp.exe)?.

If you experience the same slow speeds then you have a problem with your network connection or with your ISP. Can you browse at a normal speed?.

i have tried hrmm others
and it is the same
i can dowload from the web at normal speeds.
i have tried mirc and limewire (p2p) to test the speeds
and they are real slow too.
only good speed i can get is with ie

Hmm, maybe your ISP is filtering some ports; this could be a reason for your slow speeds. Another option could be a proxy-cache or something related.

Some time ago, here in Spain, the main ISP (Terra-Telefónica) put a nasty proxy-cache. The main objective was (in words of the the ISP) to "accelerate the rendering time of recently accesed web sites in order to give the customers a better service". In other words: save money and bandwith.

It was a nightmare: during some time the download speeds were too slow, some websites showed an ancient cached version of its contents, some programs started to malfunction, and so on ...

Have you received any answer from your ISP?.

but.....
my speeds have been returned to normal again after i sent them a email.
think they thought they could get away with it did they hehe....

well lets hope that it stays ok
