1. I opened FlashXP today.
2. I got an automated message saying there was an update available.
3. I installed the update, accepting all defaults.
4. I opened FlashXP
5. In the lightning bolt dropdown menu, I click "Reconnect: virgil.dreamhost.com"
6. The following error message appears after a couple minutes:
[R] Unable to resolve host: virgil.dreamhost.com

How do I correct the problem that the update introduced?

Is there a way to uninstall the update and return to the previous version that worked?

you tried connecting again? maybe it was temporary dns issue?
open dos prompt and type nslookup virgil.dreamhost.com
you should get something like
Code:
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: virgil.dreamhost.com
Address: 64.111.105.25
if you don't get that, then you have internet connection issues that are beyond flashfxp and downgrading to an older version won't solve your problem.

Well there are software firewalls which look at the checksum of an .exe to see if the application may connect to the internet. I see he's running norton which has such a firewall (if it's version 2006) so perhaps he needs to re-add flashfxp.exe to the list of allowed programs to access the internet.

Thanks, but these solutions/checks aren't solving the problem.

MxxCon, nslookup does not do anything. I type it in and hit enter and then in just gives me a blinking cursor on the next line for eternity.

Hetfield, I checked Norton and flashfxp is still listed in the allowed programs.

Perhaps you need to re-add flashfxp (remove it first and then adding it again)?

it's not just "nslookup", it should be "nslookup virgil.dreamhost.com"
or just do good old "ping virgil.dreamhost.com". it will automaticly do nslookup(and start pinging it's ip).
