Default Passive Mode

Not too sure of the cause of this problem. After some tests i was told to mention this to the developers of flashfxp.

I recently got 8mbit adsl at home but I have obtained rather dissapointing speeds (-100k/sec) from ftps located overseas from me.
Local sites (we have a state peering system in australia) were functioning at normal speeds.
Then someone suggested me to try the sites with passive mode completly turned off. This attualy worked suddenly my speeds were as they should be or very close to it. Testing this on a few more sites produced the same results (however local sites still work fine either way)
I was then told to try another client to see if I have the same results so i tried ftpRush. With passivemode it worked just fine with my connection so Im assuming its some small problem in ffxp?
My System Stats are:
amd 2800+ barton
1024gb ram
Winxp sp2
Adsl1 8mbit/1mbit
Netcomm Nb1300 adsl router

Anything else u want let me know

Changing the recieve buffer to 256kb considerably raised the downloads on average from 50k to 300k.
But still with passive mode off it goes twice as fast.
Im using 3.1.10 1067
Sorry for not including that in the first post

i'm curious how is it that you are runing build 1067
betas have 30 days timeout. after that period they no longer work. it's been almost 4month since the release of 1067
could it be that you are running one of those "scene edition" versions?

Says it was compiled january 25th, 2005 so its not that old. I dont make it a rule to update whenever there is a newer version out.
I assure you its not a pirated copy of any kind i have my own licenses and no need for cracked copys.
I have never ever with any copy been told by it after 30days that it will no longer function and needs updating.
And i dont like the fact you automaticly assume im running some illegal copy.

beta versions that bigstar releases have 30days lifetime to make sure that people aren't using old buggy betas
the only versions that i'm aware of that work beyond that are illegally modifed ones.
i'm not assuming anything.
if i was, i wouldn't be asking you...

anyway, upgrade to latest available beta and try again..
