Data Socket Error with XP
When try to connect to an any FTP getting this messge from Flash FXP
Data Socket Error: Connection timed out
Running Win XP Pro with SP1 , clean install,
with Flash FXP 2.0 build 905, just D/L from their site, same prob with build 903.
On cable modem
Using D-Link DFE-530TX Fast Ethernet adaptor
Everything was working fine until I installed XP, any clues?

Are you using Passive Mode or Active Mode?

I have tried both and get the same, data Socket Error: Connection timed out, in both modes.

Data Socket Error: Connection timed out: Same problem here
I am having the same problem and am at a complete work stoppage. It began when I registered my copy, now I can't FTP at all because it gives me the message:
Data Socket Error: Connection timed out
I tried my other FTP program and it is working just fine. Anyone know what is going wrong? I need help quick!

paste status log from flashfxp and from ftp client that works
that's the only way to know what you or flashfxp is doing wrong

Might be the flaky firewall that's installed by default in XP? Though passive connections should work anyway...

Hi,
Same problem here!!!
If I access my ftp-server with iexplorer 5 or 6 I can browse through my folders but cannot open files. When I try to open files I get the standard message...the page cannot be opened...blablabla
Does anyone have a clue???

if you need support with IE, contact Microsoft. if you need help with your ftp server, contact support for it.

I'm having the same problem.
OS: XP Pro
FlashFXP 2.0 build 905, unregistered (bought it, don't have license yet)
Log File:

150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for /bin/ls.
425 Can't open data connection.
I use Flash at home exclusively... on the road and can't connect. Help!

I recall someone reporting this problem before, it's a bug in a router/firewall/proxy (I forget which) you need to update the firmware.
