I heard about this earlier today and I was shocked. I talked to some other people about it and they told me the same thing. So I actually considered not ever using FlashFXP anymore.

But now I'm even more shocked to hear this was just a rumor put out by.. whoever it was.. it almost tricked me into not using FlashFXP anymore. Well I'm glad I googled it up and came along this topic here

FlashFXP doesn't send or collect any data or files of it users to anyone or anywhere. It never has and never will. I've been using FlashFXP since v1.4.

Just check your firewall logs and you'll see.

On occasion flashfxp will randomly check if there is a new build available for download and if there is it will prompt you and ask if you would like to download it.

it's not exactly "randomly". it's a user definable value, that can even be completly disabled
