Default Read Only Access for FTP site

Is there a way to configure Flash FXP so that is can only download and not upload to a FTP site? I don't have the ability to make configuration changes on the server, but I want to prevent some FlashFXP clients from accidentally uploading or deleting files from the server.

No. This must be done server side anything would only give a false sense of protection. It would be easy for anyone to use a different ftp client to bypass any client side security.

Yes, I understand what you are talking about.

I was thinking something more of a safeguard for an inexperienced user. A setting on FlashFXP that would only allow them to pull files off the server. Mainly to prevent from them from accidentally uploading a file to the server.

The client has given us full access to certain directories on their FTP server. In accessing the client FTP site, I have some users that need full read/write access, but there are others that would only need to pull files from the server.

I think it's a useful feature that I have seen in other FTP programs.

You are better off having true access privilege separation. Have one read/write account and one read-only account.
This is the only true way to ensure that somebody can't accidentally upload or delete something.
